A couple of days before the gun show we received several XDm Compacts in 9mm. We have taken some time to check them out and we are very impressed with the work that Springfield Armory put into making this a platform for all occasions. Most compact pistols of this size are not good for putting lots of rounds down range in a single session with their short grips. Springfield has taken what they learned with the XD compact and refined it for the M series. Springfield chose to go with a 3.8″ barrel on the XDm Compact instead of a 3″ on the XD Compact, but kept a short grip for better conceal-ability. The XMm Compact 9mm comes with a 13rnd magazine for concealment and a 19rnd magazine with an X-Tension sleeve to give the compact the same feel as a 3.8″ full size XDm. Springfield went a step further by supplying two additional X-Tension sleeves to add on to full size magazines. Having the ability to have a full size grip for the range or open carry really gives alot of versatility to the compact. We have them available in Bi-Tone or black in 9mm only with 40S&W available sometime in the near future.
