BMC Tactical Store
Passion, dedication, and experience honestly sum up what we are at BMC Tactical/Warrior Steel. President of the company, George Bracken served in Vietnam with the 9th infantry division (mechanized) as a MA Deuce gunner on a M113 armored personnel carrier. He was hit in the TET offensive of ’68 and spent the next 15 months in the hospital recovering. He received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat against the Communist North Vietnamese. George has a long history of doing business in the South Valley of Albuquerque.
Only son, Walter Bracken has worked alongside his dad most of his life. His affection for all that is military and service minded is evident in BMC Tactical/Warrior Steel. Walter opened BMC Tactical in September of 1999.
Walter wanted to better meet the needs of the Law Enforcement Community so he partnered up with Jeff Hogan of Warrior Steel Firearms. They created the Warrior Steel room inside BMC Tactical in December of 2008. Warrior Steel offers popular weapons systems that most gun shops in the Albuquerque area do not carry, and/or over charge for. Walter and Jeff see eye to eye in regards to supplying the LE/Mil fields with quality products, and that’s why they make a perfect team in Warrior Steel.
Jeff Hogan is a Law Enforcement Officer who got tired of having his duty 1911’s worked on, only to get them back in worse condition. So, he decided to build his own guns to avoid the hassle of lackluster quality and less than ideal customer service. He started building them for teammates from the Regional Swat Team. Word of the builds began to get around. Eventually, he started building 1911’s for some of the top regarded law enforcement officers and trainers in the country. Jeff knows the importance of an officer having confidence in his weapon system, and it shows in every build. Guns do not leave the shop until they have passed an exhaustive field and stress test. Why? Because he wouldn’t have it any other way for himself.
Bottom line; we believe in selling a quality product at a fair price. We practice what we preach, research and test the product, and have employees in the shop with actual military experience. We love this shit.
